DAY 1
NSW Government SmartNSW Masterclass

The Australian Smart Communities Summit 2023 kicked off with NSW Government holding their SmartNSW Masterclass ‘Delivering smart plans, projects and precincts’ at CommBank Stadium, Parramatta.
 
The day included three sessions:

  • Delivering a 22nd Century City, Western Sydney Aerotropolis

  • Connecting your precinct or place

  • Unlocking the value of data in places

 
Day 1 concluded with our Australian Smart Communities Summit Welcome Event where attendees looked through the NSW Government and Summit Showcase, caught up with colleagues and got excited about the Summit day ahead.

DAY 2
Australian Smart Communities Summit 2023

Australian Smart Communities Summit began with a beautiful Welcome to Country from Aunty Kerry to begin the morning, followed by Lord Mayor Sameer Pandey with a warm reception to the City of Parramatta.
 
Throughout the Summit it was wonderful to see everyone coming together, learning, collaborating, and exploring the best of smart communities around Australia.
 
Thank you to our keynote speakers Michael McQueen and Tracey Spicer for joining us, it was a pleasure to hear about your experiences with technology and artificial intelligence. We would also like to thank all of our wonderful guest speakers; Brook Dixon, Brooke Knox, Dean Mortimer, Gemma Baxter, George Sfinas, Harman Singh, Josh Divett, Kylie Cochrane, Liam Manning, Matthew Schultz, Michael Whereat, Pearl Ng, Rory Brown, Soraya Selinger and Susan Skuodas. Special thank you to our MC for the day Zoe Eather.
 
A final thank you to our major partners for the Summit, City of Parramatta, NSW Government and nbn, as well as our exhibition partners Delos Delta, Meshed IoT, Monkey Media, Peclet Technology, SAPHI Engineering and Smart Footprints. DAY 3
Study Tours

The final day of the Summit concluded with 2 memorable study tours.
 
The bus tour option was given a behind the scenes tour of the NSW Smart Infrastructure Facility where smart signs and traffic management technology is developed for deployment. This was followed by a special presentation and guided tour of the new Western Sydney International Airport construction site.
 
The walking tour option took delegates around the City of Parramatta to get a first-hand look into the implementation of smart city technologies to monitor and alert on river flooding of up to 8.8M meters high, to manage urban heat, to create a sense of place and joy to live and work in the heart of Sydney.
