In the development of their Smart City Strategic Framework and Implementation Plan in 2021, Maribyrnong City Council wanted a tool that could help assess whether smart city project ideas should be delivered or not.

This basic scoring matrix assesses projects across a suite of criteria with weighted scoring that provides a score out of 100.

While not an exact science, the tool allows the Smart City team to build up their own knowledge about the accuracy of the assessment tool, and is used when presenting back to the Project Working Group who help make decisions about Smart City Projects.
