ASCA met with Japanese Smart City reps

In early March ASCA Vice-President James Sankar and board member Simon Berryman met with Japanese representatives from Deloitte Tohmatsu in Sydney to discuss their interest in Smart Communities / Smart Cities.

The discussion was very positive, and highlighted some of the ways Japan is using a smart city approach to manage their mega-cities, and the contrast in approach required to work in remote rural communities.

Early planning is underway to invite a guest from Japan to an ASCA webinar to share some of their insights with ASCA members, and the opportunity of a study tour to Japan will be explored in the future. ASCA will continue to foster the relationship and see where it leads.
