Matt schultz - PRESIDENT
Matthew Schultz is an Executive leader with expertise in all facets of next-generation connectivity including 5G, digital transformation, Smart City & Internet of Things, and data-driven strategy and delivery within high-profile operations. Matthew is skilled in collaborating within organizations and industry to achieve business, financial and service delivery objectives.
Matthew is also inaugural Board Director of Open Data Australia, a member of Open and Agile Smart Cities Australia, Standards Australia IT042 Internet of Things Standards Development Committee and Standards Australia JT-001-01 Smart City Standards Development Committee.
In addition, Matthew has also positioned the City of Ipswich as a Top 7 worldwide Intelligent Community for 2015, 2017 and 2018 as recognised by the Intelligent Community Forum based in New York.
PETER runcie - VICE PRESIDENT
Peter is an independent consultant assisting organisations with strategy and program development.
Until recently Peter led the Data Driven Future Communities portfolio for Data61 | CSIRO - Australia’s national science and technology agency. Peter also led the formulation of CSIRO’s overall Future Cities strategy and development of large scale IoT sensing and data analytics systems.
Peter has worked for a wide range of organisations including both technology vendors and users, corporates, small businesses and startups.
Peter holds an MBA(Exec) from the Australian Graduate School of Management and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Directors Company Directors course.
Peter is also on the Internet of Things committee for the Australian Computer Society and is a board member of the New South Wales Smart Sensing Network.
Peter is an inventor on 28 granted patents in Europe, China and the US in the fields of voice and video communications, data networking, biometrics, the monitoring of civil infrastructure sensing and artificial intelligence.
Zoe eather - secretary
Zoe is an engineer and a millennial with a passion for Smart Communities, Smart Cities and Smart Regions, so not just in the big cities, but using technology and Smart ways of thinking as enablers to make the places we live more accessible, liveable and sustainable for all. Through her boutique consultancy My Smart Community, she offers Smart Community advisory services
Zoe keeps up-to-date with the latest trends and shares her learnings through hosting The Smart Community Podcast and recently returned from a Winston Churchill Fellowship.
beau tydd - treasurer
Beau Tydd is a Technology Executive with over 20 years’ experience in the sector, across multiple sectors, primarily within senior management/executive positions and advisory positions to CIO’s and Executive Boards and most recently as the General Manager of Technology and Innovation at Queensland Airports.
Previous to this role, Beau spent many years working on International Development and capacity building programs across the APAC region including extended times living and working in Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands.
As well being recently elected as the Treasurer for the Australian Smart Communities Association, a rapidly growing Australian peak industry association for Smart Community, he is also the Vice Chair of the QLD ACS Branch Executive, Vice-Chair of the Gold Coast ACS Branch and a member of the ACS National Digital Enablement Committee. Other current board appointments include; Independent Review Panel member for the Internet Society Foundation; Advisory Board Member for Bloxian Technology (Blockchain); Chair, External Advisory Board - Information Technology Academic Group and Design Sprint Industry Innovation Ambassador for James Cook University; Member of the Healthcare Innovations Board for Bond University; Member of the Information Technology Industry Advisory Board for Southern Cross University, Member of the ICT Course Reference Committee for CQ University.
His academic qualifications including an MBA from CSU and a BIT from QUT plus many industry and project management certifications. He is also an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at SCU focusing on emerging technologies
dani storey
Dani Storey is the Chief Technology Officer at CyQIQ, a leading systems integrator with a focus on IoT and smart city solution. In her current role, over the past 5 years, Dani has led various strategic Smart City programs, written Smart City Strategies, roadmaps and reference architectures and led program delivery for both Councils and standards organisations.
Dani has been working within Digital Transformation programs for government over the past 10 years. Her background is in technology engineering and architecture in government and enterprise ICT environments, primarily within mobility, IoT and complex systems integration.
In 2019, she was awarded Australia’s IoT Hub, Women of IoT award as a leading advocate and collaborator within the industry.
Dani is passionate about addressing real community challenges, seeking measurable outcomes and improving operational efficiencies, using technology as an enabler. She has joined the ASCA board to help improve innovation efforts, standards and security within the Smart City and IoT space. In addition, she is passionate about collaboration and sharing experiences to help the industry maturity and progress.
In addition to ASCA, Dani is involved in IoTAA (Internet of Things Alliance Australia), IOT SEC (IOT Security Forum) and various other IoT working groups globally.
ally dench
Ally Dench is currently the Executive Director, Community and Corporate at Wollondilly Shire Council and is the Western Sydney City Deals Lead Officer for Wollondilly.
Ally is passionate about integrated service planning and delivery across all levels of government and is leading the Local Government Team to deliver a Digital Action Plan for the Western Parkland City in Collaboration with State and Federal Government.
Ally brings to her work over 25 years of experience in service management and delivery, strategic planning and policy development. This experience has given her the ability to relate policy and legislation into practical day-to-day strategies, aiding in the implementation of principles of good practice in service delivery.
adam Mowlam
Adam is an experienced public servant having worked across all levels of government for more than 12 years and currently spearheads the Smart City Office for Wyndham City Council, one of Australia's fastest and largest municipalities
This role involves thinking beyond the now to develop and deliver smart ‘beyond the curve’ initiatives by fostering a creative and dynamic environment that encourages the creation of new ideas and tests the established thinking. He leads a diverse team of professionals heavily focused on addressing local transport and environmental challenges and is passionate about data-driven decision making.
Adam graduated from The University of Melbourne with a PhD and both a Bachelor of Geomatics Engineering and Bachelor of Information Systems, he also is a member of the Municipal Association of Victoria (MAV) Technology Executive Committee.
